Amy Kaplan Parmenter is a longtime anchor/reporter for KYW Newsradio and now works for the station via the web. You can also find her on the 'Parm Farm', her popular blog. (ParmFarm.com)
Parmenter grew up in Havertown, Pa. and attended Haverford High School. She attended Temple University, where she got a degree in sports medicine and worked as a trainer for several Owls teams.
After graduation, she and her brother launched a clothing manufacturing company, which sold upscale casual wear to most major retailers including Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, Bergdorf Goodman, Nieman-Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
An amateur actor in community theatre, Parmenter became interested in the broadcasting business. She worked as an associate sports producer at our sister television station KYW-TV3 before joining KYW Newsradio 1060 in 1994.
Parmenter has also been a talk radio host at Philadelphia's WPHT Radio 1210.
Amy Kaplan Parmenter and her husband Bruce make their home in Connecticut where Amy continues to serve as a member of the media, working as a television reporter for the local NBC affiliate there.
